Things like account details (so you can sign in), transactions and categories you enter or import, notes and files you attach, group or split information, and basic device or app-version signals so nothing feels broken on your phone. If you contact us, we keep that message long enough to reply and improve support.

Running Finex. Syncing your data, showing charts, powering AI features you turn on, and keeping trips and splits in order.

Safety. Spotting abuse, protecting accounts, and handling fraud or technical risk the way a responsible finance app should.

Making the product better. Understanding which flows help people, fixing bugs, and prioritizing what to build next—often with aggregated or de-identified patterns rather than staring at one person’s grocery list.

Analytics & marketing. Measuring whether an update helped, whether a campaign reached the right audience, and how people discover Finex—without treating your individual ledger as a public billboard.

Sustaining the service. Supporting free and paid experiences, including monetization in line with how the app is offered in your region. That might mean subscriptions, optional upgrades, or partnerships structured so partners don’t get a free pass to misuse what you trusted us with.

We don’t sell your personal financial data as a product. We may share information with vendors who help us operate Finex (cloud hosting, payment processing, security tools, analytics platforms, AI infrastructure) under contracts that limit what they can do with it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.

Notifications: used to send reminders and product-related notifications.

Contacts (read): used to fetch device contacts for group functionality so users can add contacts to group workflows.

Camera: used for AI-powered bill/receipt analysis when a user captures images in-app.

Storage / document read access: used for selecting files (for example PDF/docs) to support AI-assisted transaction generation from documents.

SMS (read): used for transaction detection and suggestion for auto-logging.

Finex processes SMS-based auto-transaction suggestions locally on your device. Finex does not process SMS content server-side for this feature and does not store raw SMS content in backend databases for auto-transaction detection.

You may deny or revoke permissions at any time through device settings. You may also disable SMS-based auto logging by removing SMS permission from app settings. Some features may become unavailable if required permissions are disabled.

You can update or delete much of what you enter from inside the app, subject to how backups and legal retention work in practice. You’re responsible for the accuracy of what you add and for using Finex in a way that matches your own comfort level with digital tools.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Send a note to the email below and we’ll walk through it with you.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. We use industry-typical safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong, we’ll address it in line with our obligations.

Finex isn’t aimed at young children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll take appropriate steps.

We’ll update this policy when our practices evolve. When the changes matter, we’ll note it here and may also tell you in the app. The date at the bottom reflects the latest refresh.
